Even though we didn’t win one of the prizes for the best four startups, we think we have brought some interest and we can follow up this challenge with some kind of cooperation. All 12 startups were great and we’d like to congratulate all the winners.
The main program was really interesting, full of ingenious ideas, all-star speakers and gave us a lot of energy. It wasn’t possible to visit all the sessions among all the meetings with big companies, other startups and innovation centers, but I’d like to mention a few.
- Roman Staněk, CEO of GoodData, pointed out a lot of CEO’s DO’s and DONT’s. Valuable advices from experienced CEO packed for young founders.
- Daniel Kim, founder of LitMotors, presented his new “Sensation on two wheels”, futuristic motorcycle-like vehicle with gyroscopic stability system, 100% electric.
- Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, introduced new collaborative platform for fans (Fandom) and shared a lot of thoughts about communities and collaboration.
As usual, Pioneers Festival was marvelous event, located in the beautiful Hofburg Palace in the heart of Vienna. It was cool to be part of the atmosphere – lots of tech enthusiasts, passionate founders and developers and ubiquitous smell of energy drinks. The pastries, herbal lemonade, coffee and especially all the organizers were awesome. We’re looking forward to seeing the startup community next year at Pioneers again. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to see the beautiful city of Vienna. We only managed to buy the famous “Sachertorte” (the biggest one) for our teammates in Brno and it was delicious!
At the end we’d like to thank TechSquareCZ for a bus that got us to Vienna and back. It was great to spend some time chatting with other Czech startup folks sitting in those comfortable seats.
